Who we're looking for...
Front-end Developer
We looking for an HTML/CSS guru to cleanly apply some Photoshopped designs to our new marketing/e-commerce site. Initially this is an on-site, short-term engagement, however we expect there to be significant follow-on work if everyone is happy.
You must be able to:
- Turn layered Photoshop files into cross-browser CSS and HTML
- Work directly with our Sass and Haml templates
- Have a working knowledge of Javascript, experience with jQuery a plus
- Understand the basics of source control management tools (we use Git)
- Work (mostly) onsite in our office loft in SoHo/NYC
User Interaction / User Experience Designer
We're looking for an experienced interaction designer and web user-interface expert on a part-time basis to modify and build upon the look-and-feel of our business productivity web application. The right candidate loves streamlined interfaces, a clear visual hierarchy and intuitive workflows. The designer will also create interactions and styles for new, already specified functionality.
You must be able to:
- Improve graphic design treatments while adhering to an established visual language of layout, color, typography and iconography
- Create intuitive interactions from specified workflows
- Work directly with our CSS (Sass) stylesheets and Haml templates
- Understand the basics of source control management tools (we use Git)
- Work independently in a flexible and iterative manner, with only general requirements
- Have your own working environment and software
Ruby on Rails Developer
We're looking for an experienced Rails developer to join Bantam 3 - 4 days a week. This is a part-time contract gig that could lead to more work and deeper company involvement/equity, if desired. We've got a lengthy roadmap and we can further deepen the working relationship if there is a fit. We would prefer you work here with us in SoHo, NYC.
About you:
- Experienced Ruby on Rails developer
- Understanding of and experienced with BDD (Rspec, Cucumber)
- Know enough about front-end development that you are able to build views and partials (solid understanding of CSS nuances a plus -- we work in haml/sass)
- jQuery library knowledge a plus
- Solid understanding of relational database fundamentals
- Experience with message queues a plus
- Experience with Git
- An understanding or experience with project management tools like Pivotal Tracker
